Most people avoid change until it’s too late.
The most valuable skill is learning what matters next.
What helped you grow before won’t carry you forward.
Future-ready people always stay one step uncomfortable.

Scenario: A digital campaign flopped. Leadership wants a quick fix. Everyone’s panicking.
Use Critical Thinking (Skill 9):
Ask, “What assumptions did we make that didn’t hold up?”
Write them down.
Look for gaps in data or logic.
Apply Strategic Problem Solving (Skill 6):
Instead of rushing to redesign, say, “Let’s first figure out where it went wrong — was it the message, the audience, or the timing?”
Lean into Emotional Intelligence (Skill 7):
Read the room.
If teammates are defensive, don’t attack.
Say, “This isn’t about blame — it’s about learning quickly so we don’t repeat it.”
“Before we fix anything, can we map out the key points where this started to slip? We’ll move faster if we slow down for a day and get clear on the root cause.”
Scenario: You led a product update or feature launch, but users aren’t engaging.
Use Customer Focus (Skill 5):
Set up 3 quick calls or surveys with users.
Ask, “What confused you?” or “Where did we lose you?”
Leverage Design & UX (Skill 4):
Watch someone use the product.
Say nothing. Just observe where they pause or get stuck.
Use Idea Generation (Skill 12):
Brainstorm 10 new ways to present the same thing.
Don’t try to be clever — try to be clear.
“I realized we might be leading with what we want to say, not what the user needs to hear. Can we revisit how we’re framing this — maybe start from their point of view?”
Scenario: A new system or company-wide change is being rolled out, and your team is frustrated or worried.
Apply Staying Adaptable (Skill 11):
Say, “I don’t have all the answers yet, but here’s what I do know — and here’s what we’ll figure out together.”
Use Leading With Impact (Skill 8):
Model calm, action, and clear communication — not just instructions.
Leverage Personal Development (Skill 10):
Give people space to vent.
Then ask, “What’s one new skill or habit we can practice during this shift?”
“This is a big change, and change is messy. But it’s also where new skills come from. Let’s treat this week as ‘practice mode’ — no pressure to get it all right yet.”
Scenario: You’ve been quietly doing good work, but leadership isn’t noticing.
Use AI & Data Expertise (Skill 1):
Find one area where data is messy or missing.
Offer to clean it up or track something better.
Apply Tech Fluency (Skill 2):
Recommend one tool that connects two steps people are doing manually.
You don’t need to build it — just suggest it.
Tap into Emotional Intelligence (Skill 7):
Give credit to others while showing your part.
Say, “Sarah’s insight helped me look into the data differently — together we spotted a pattern that saved time.”
“I pulled a report that shows where our turnaround time slows down. Thought it might be helpful. If it’s useful, I can keep doing a weekly version.”
If you're feeling stuck, try solving this first.
Here’s a question most people never ask:
“What problem am I actually solving—for myself?”
Before you try to create a product/offer, build a brand, or find a niche…
Start here:
What’s the personal problem you’ve already worked through that changed the way you think?
That’s where the most honest and useful products/offers come from.
Examples:
You used to doubt your skills → now you teach others how to feel confident
You figured out how to organize chaos → now you help people simplify
You made peace with burnout → now you guide others through it
Your best offer is often the solution you built for your past self.
And that kind of work doesn’t just earn money.
It gives your experience meaning.
👉 That’s where creatyl comes in.
It gives you one space to turn small steps into something real—products, offers, links, and ideas—without getting overwhelmed.
It gives you space to build what matters. And helps you when you are not sure what that is.
Step 1: Choose Your Skill
Pick one skill from the Top 12 list that feels important for you today.
Example:
“I want to get better at asking questions.”
“I need to stay calmer during changes.”
“I want to speak up more clearly in meetings.”
Step 2: Spot Your Moment
Think ahead: Where might this skill show up today?
Pick one real moment that’s already on your calendar or to-do list.
Example:
A meeting you’re usually quiet in
A task where you normally rush
A conversation that might get emotional
Don’t wait for something dramatic. Look for something normal.
Step 3: Make One Intentional Move
When the moment comes, ask:
“What’s one thing I could say or do right now to practice my skill — even just a little?”
Then do it. Quietly. Confidently.
That’s the move.
Step 4: Catch the Reaction
Did anything shift because of your action?
Did the room get quieter or more focused?
Did someone pause or look at you differently?
Did you feel a little more in control?
Notice what happened — even small signs matter.
Step 5: Ask Yourself This One Line
At the end of the day, write this sentence:
“Today, I practiced [your skill] by [what you did].”
Optional: Write one more —
“Tomorrow, I’ll try it again by…”
AI Prompt: “Act as a personal coach helping me apply one future skill in my real life today. Use the following details to create a simple plan I can follow:
Skill I Want to Practice: [Insert one of the 12 future skills, e.g., "Critical Thinking" or "Emotional Intelligence"]
Why I Picked This Skill: [Insert reason, e.g., "I struggle to ask deeper questions in meetings"]
A Real Moment Today Where This Could Show Up: [Insert situation, e.g., "Team check-in at 10am"]
Help me:
Come up with one specific thing I can say or do in that moment to practice this skill
Suggest a backup move I can try if the first one doesn’t fit or the moment shifts
Give me a simple reflection question I can ask myself after to learn from the experience
Make it feel doable. Keep it short and real. Speak like a calm coach who wants to help me take one small but meaningful step forward today.”
No one is naturally ready for the future — they prepare for it.
You don’t have to master every skill at once.
But the people who start now will be the ones others turn to later.
The smallest actions — asking better questions, listening deeper, thinking ahead — add up fast.
Most people avoid change until it’s forced. You’re already ahead.
Doing the work today is how tomorrow becomes easier.
Until next time and with lots of love,
Justin
