Scenario: Your team heard the plan…but no one seems fully clear on next steps.
Formula Used: Clarity = Simplicity + Repetition
Strip the jargon. Use short, plain language.
Say: “Here’s what we’re doing. Here’s why. Here’s what happens first.”
Repeat the key takeaway in multiple ways.
Example: In writing. Out loud. In chat.
Ask for playback.
Say: “Can someone walk me through what you’re taking away from this?”
If people are confused, it’s not because they’re slow. It’s because the message wasn’t clear enough.
Scenario: Someone who used to lead with energy now pulls back.
Formula Used: Trust = Autonomy + Support
Give space and ask directly.
Say: “You’ve earned the room to own this—how do you want to run with it?”
Offer backup without micromanaging.
Say: “Where would it help to have me show up more?”
Give choices, not orders.
Say: “You decide the path, I’ll help clear it.”
Autonomy isn’t giving people less of you. It’s giving them the right parts of you—at the right moments.
Scenario: You just reviewed something that missed the target, and now you need to respond.
Formula Used: Good Feedback = Fast + Kind + Clear
Don’t wait. Speak same-day.
Say: “Quick note—just looked at your draft.”
Be specific, not vague.
Say: “The tone is solid, but the examples don’t connect to our audience yet.”
Balance with belief.
Say: “Let’s tweak this together. I know you can hit it.”
The longer you wait, the heavier it feels. Speed shows care.
Scenario: Everyone needs you. You’re doing 12 things halfway and nothing well.
Formula Used: Focus = Less + Priority
Cut low-value work first.
Say: “I’m removing this from my plate so I can go deeper on what matters most.”
Say no with clarity.
Say: “This doesn’t fit the priority list right now. Can we revisit it later?”
Create visible focus.

Step 1: Choose Your Focus
Pick one formula from the Leadership sheet that feels most needed today.
Example: “Feedback = Fast + Kind + Clear” or “Clarity = Simplicity + Repetition”
Step 2: Find the Moment
Think ahead: when today might this show up?
Example: “During our team check-in,” or “When someone updates me on a project”
Step 3: Do This One Simple Thing
When that moment happens, pause for 3 seconds.
Use that pause to ask yourself:
“What would a clear leader say right now?”
You don’t need perfect words.
Just choose calm, clear, and helpful over busy or vague.
Step 4: Notice What Happens
Did the conversation feel smoother?
Did your team respond differently?

Write down one sentence about how it went.
Step 5: Try Again Tomorrow
