Hey friends,
Feeling two things at once doesn't make you broken.
Sometimes two opposite feelings sit in the same room.
And somehow... both are telling the truth.
But first, check out this amazing opportunity from today’s sponsor…
Your Lead Flow Shouldn't Need You
Someone downloaded one of my free templates at 2am.
By the next morning they were already moving through my system without me touching anything.
I built the flow once using Active Intelligence inside ActiveCampaign.
Now it handles things like:
Tags leads by clicks and behavior
Routes hot leads to the right path
Removes cold contacts automatically
The result:
Less manual work.
Cleaner lists.
Better follow-through.
You are not complicated. You are human.
And the more honestly you understand what you feel...
The less your emotions have to shout to be heard.
Today we are going to help you master this by using:
‘The Truth About Emotions’.
Let’s dive in!

How to Protect Your Peace at Work Without Losing Yourself
1. When Your Team Pushes Back On A New Idea
Scenario: You share a new idea in a meeting, but people immediately question it or point out problems.
Say:
“I may not have every answer yet, but I believe this can solve a real problem.”
Ask the team:
“What concerns would stop this from working?”
Write every concern down without interrupting.
People trust leaders who can stay calm without pretending to be perfect.
Confidence gets attention.
Vulnerability gets honesty.
Together, they create trust.
2. When You Feel Burned Out But Keep Saying “I’m Fine”
Scenario: Your workload keeps growing, your energy keeps dropping, but you continue acting like everything is under control.
Stop saying yes automatically.
Delay non-urgent meetings by 24 hours before accepting.
Replace “I’ll handle it” with:
“Let me check my workload first.”
At the end of every Friday, write down:
What drained you
What gave you energy
What should stop next week
Most burnout does not come from working hard.
It comes from carrying too many things nobody notices.
3. When Someone Lets You Down On A Project
Scenario: A coworker misses deadlines multiple times, and now the entire project is falling behind.
Start with facts, not feelings.
Say:
“We missed two deadlines this month, and I need to understand what’s happening so we can fix it.”
Then ask:
“What’s making this difficult right now?”
“What support would actually help?”
“What can we both agree on moving forward?”
This keeps the conversation productive instead of personal.
Strong teams are not built by avoiding disappointment.
They are built by handling disappointment correctly.
4. When You Feel Nervous Before A Big Opportunity
Scenario: You are about to give a presentation, interview for a role, or speak in front of leadership, and your anxiety starts taking over.
Instead of saying:
“I’m nervous.”
Say:
“I’m getting ready.”
Then do this:
Arrive 10 minutes early
Speak slower than normal
Start with one sentence you already know by heart
Focus on helping people instead of impressing them
Pressure feels smaller when your attention leaves yourself.

1. The Coworker Who Keeps Asking For Help
Scenario: People at work constantly message you asking how to do the same task over and over again.
Instead of answering manually every time:
Turn your process into a simple checklist or guide.
Record a 5-minute walkthrough once.
Save it as a PDF or short video people can reuse.
What most people miss:
If people repeatedly ask for your help, that is often a sign you already have a skill people would pay for outside your job too.
Small problems solved clearly can become income.
2. The Skill You Think Is “Too Basic”
Scenario: You are good at organizing projects, writing emails, creating visuals, or explaining things clearly, but you assume it is too simple to matter.
Simple skills are usually the easiest to sell because people understand them immediately.
Instead of trying to create something huge:
Pick one skill you already use weekly.
Solve one small problem with it.
Share one example online showing the result.
The people making progress are often not the most talented.
They are the ones who started before they felt fully ready.
3. The Person Trying To Manage Everything Alone
Scenario: You have ideas for guides, templates, workshops, or digital products, but your files, notes, and links are scattered everywhere.
That chaos slows people down more than they realize.
This is why I like using creatyl.
Instead of juggling random folders and tools:
Keep your offers, PDFs, links, and product ideas in one place.
Organize everything before launch day gets stressful.
Build simple systems early so things feel easier as you grow.
A lot of people do not need more ideas.
They need a simpler way to manage the ideas they already have.
Go to creatyl.com to start organizing everything in one place.

Here's how you can make it real today:
Step 1: Pick the emotion pattern you want to work on
Think about a moment recently where your emotions took over at work.
Now choose one emotional pattern from today’s newsletter that you want to improve.
That is your focus for today.
Step 2: Choose your moment
Pick one moment today where you know emotions usually show up.
Before a meeting
During Slack or email replies
While handling feedback
During a stressful conversation
Before speaking in front of others
Now create one reminder for yourself.
“Pause first. React second.”
Step 3: Practice one calm response
When that emotional moment happens:
Pause for 3 seconds
Take one breath
Respond slower than normal
Then choose one calm action:
Ask a question instead of assuming
Speak clearly instead of emotionally
Listen fully before replying
Say what you need directly
Stay steady instead of trying to “win” the interaction
Step 4: Pay attention to what changes
After the moment passes, ask yourself:
Did staying calmer change the conversation?
Did I handle this better than usual?
Did the situation feel smaller once I slowed down?
Did people respond differently to my energy?
Small emotional shifts can completely change how people experience you.
Step 5: End the day with one sentence
Before bed, finish one of these:
“Today I handled ______ better by slowing down.”
“The moment I’m most proud of today was ______.”
“Tomorrow I want to respond with more ______.”
AI Prompt: “Act as an emotional intelligence coach and workplace communication expert. Help me prepare for today’s emotional awareness challenge based on the following details:
Emotion Pattern I Want To Improve: [Insert emotion or situation, e.g., “Getting defensive during feedback” or “Feeling nervous before meetings”]
Situation Where This Usually Happens: [Insert situation, e.g., “Team meetings,” “Slack messages,” “Difficult conversations,” or “Presentations”]
My Usual Reaction: [Insert reaction, e.g., “I shut down,” “I interrupt,” “I overthink,” or “I get frustrated”]
How I Want To Respond Instead: [Insert goal, e.g., “Stay calm and clear,” “Speak with confidence,” or “Pause before reacting”]
Provide:
A simple breakdown of what may actually be happening emotionally in this situation.
One small action I can practice today during the challenge.
Three calm and professional phrases I can use in the moment.
A step-by-step way to pause and respond instead of reacting emotionally.
Common mistakes to avoid when emotions get high.
One reminder sentence I can repeat to myself during the day.
A short reflection question I can answer tonight to see if I improved today.”

A lot of people spend years trying to look confident while quietly feeling overwhelmed inside.
But real confidence is not pretending you never feel fear, doubt, stress, or uncertainty.
Real confidence is knowing those emotions can exist without controlling your behavior.
That changes the way you speak.
That changes the way people trust you.
And that changes the kind of leader, coworker, friend, and person you become over time.
Until next time and with lots of love,
Justin
